The ‘wonderful support’ that Ellesmere Port Lions Club has had from local people over the last 12 months has led to the presentation of a cheque for £1,500 to Ellesmere Port Hospital.

The money has been raised at various fundraising activities organised by the Lions.

It will be used to purchase equipment which will enable hospital staff to move severely restricted patients in a dignified manner.

“We were delighted to be able to present the cheque to the hospital,”  said president Ron Kenworthy.

During the past five years the Lions Club has been able to make ‘significant donations’ to the hospital thanks to the generosity of local people.
