A mobile hairdresser found herself a cut above the rest when she won a van in a national competition.

Capenhurst-based Sally Ingham was presented with the keys to her new set of wheels as the lucky winner of the competition run by safety supplier Arco, which has a branch on Hooton Road, Hooton, and workwear brand Trojan.

Customers buying Trojan boots or workwear were encouraged to take part in the nationwide draw which offered a brand new Volkswagen Caddy van as the top prize.

Sally was randomly selected as the lucky winner, having bought workwear from Trojan at Arco.

Both she and her husband ride and she says the store’s kit offers ‘an ideal solution’ in comparison to clothing found in equestrian shops.

Delighted to have a new van, she said: “I often visit the Arco store in Ellesmere Port for supplies.

“Having filled in the win-a-van competition form after a recent purchase, I was shocked to find out that I’d won and was actually cutting a client’s hair at the time.

“The van is an ideal addition to my business, particularly as I run a mobile operation.

“I rely heavily on the use of my car to travel between customer appointments and winning the van means that I can transport everything I need more efficiently.”

Sally also won a pack of skin care products.

Clive Barstow, head of retail at Arco, said: “Arco is proud to support small local businesses like Sally’s which provide local communities with a valuable service.

“We congratulate her on winning this fantastic prize and hope it will help to continue driving her business forward.”
