There are major delays on the M62 today (Monday, February 15) after a man fell to his death from a motorway bridge.
All motorway lanes have been closed and an investigation is currently under way by police following the incident at the junction of Hall Lane between J6-7 in Knowsley earlier this morning.
The huge back-up of traffic may affect drivers from Chester who are heading out for the start of half term week and diversions are likely to be in place until at least 11.45pm, Highways England said.
Westbound traffic between junctions seven, at the St Helens linkway, and six, at the Knowsley Expressway is being diverted.
Road users to allow plenty of extra time for their journey and to consider alternative routes.
