The M56 motorway is now clear and flowing freely again following an earlier accident.
There had been queuing traffic eastbound between the junction 15 intersection with the M53 and junction 12 at Runcorn.
The incident occurred about 7.30am this morning (Monday February 8) but was quickly moved to the hard shoulder near J12.
BBC Travel described the level of disruption as ‘medium’ in its severity at its height.
