Saturday, April 30
Cycling
Chester Cathedral - The launch of the Tower & Spires cycling path on the Dean’s Field from 10am-2pm with stalls from cycle shops, activity groups, Chester Cycling Campaign and cycle touring clubs.
Chester Cathedral Falconry and Nature Gardens will hold flying displays throughout the day, weather permitting. There will also be reptiles on show, where visitors can get up close and personal with snakes, lizards and cockroaches.
The Tower & Spires tour starts at Chester Cathedral and then takes in St John’s Church Chester, St James’ Church Christleton and other Anglican churches in Waverton, Hargrave, Bunbury, Tattenhall, Farndon, Aldford and Bruera.
Football
Chester FC - Last game of the season is a home match against Gateshead at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium. Kick-off 5.30pm. Fair dos
Little Roodee Car Park - The fair is in town from Thursday, April 28 until Sunday, May 8. Open on weekdays at 4pm until 10pm, Saturday's and Bank Holiday Monday (May 2) from 12pm until 10pm and 12pm - 8pm on Sundays.
There is an unlimited ride wrist band offer available for the Thursday dates (April 28 and May 5) from 4pm - 7pm or 7pm - 10pm.
If you are under 1.2 metres in height, the wristbands are available at £6.99. If you are over 1.2 metres in height, the wristbands are available at 12.99.

Festival
Hoole - Hoole Quarter May Day Festival, 11am - 5pm, Faulkner Street and Charles Street. Bringing, food, art, crafts and live music to the streets of Hoole. Includes Cool Hoole Children's Art Competition, judged by ex Corrie actor Ian Puleston-Davies.
Entertainment from House of Dance and Karamba Samba. Live music from The Roddai, Dead Pixels and many more.

Let off steam
Lion Salt Works Museum, Northwich - Steam Transport Weekend on Sunday, May 1 and Monday, May 2. It will feature the 'President' and 'Kildare' historic boats plus at least six miniature steam engines, most in full steam during the day.
In addition, there will be steam lorry and a display of treadle-powered fret saws. The event is free and there is no charge to visit the café, play area or butterfly garden. There will also be a series of stalls and children’s activities available at a modest cost. For further details call 01606 271640.
Last chance
Chester Cathedral Golgotha Exhibition - This is the last day to see David Mach's installation which depicts the crucifixion in three huge metal sculptures made out of thousands of coat hangers. Mach, a Turner prize nominee, is one of Britain’s leading sculptors. This is a free exhibition.
Claire Henderson Davis avant garde ‘dancer in residence’ at Chester Cathedral will perform a farewell piece to the enormous sculpture pieces on Sunday 1 May at 4.30pm
Monday, May 2
Chester Town Hall - West Cheshire TUC May Day Fair & Rally. 11am - 2pm. Stalls include Cuba Solidarity, Chester Friends of Palestine, CND, Lancs NUM, Justice for Mineworkers, Shrewsbury 24, Anti-Fracking, Anti-Badger Cull, Labour Party, Green Party, Trade Unions and Socialist organisation.
The Liverpool Socialist Singers will be there. Speakers will include Chester MP Chris Matheson.
