Tough Mudder returns to Cheshire this weekend.

The 10-12 mile obstacle course, described as ‘the toughest event on the planet’, is being held at Cholmondeley Castle across September 12-13.

Designed by British Special Forces to test mental as well as physical strength, the course and obstacles promise to push every competitor to the limit.

North West participants will take on ten exhilarating new obstacles and some redesigned ones too.

They include ‘Dead Ringer’, a traverse across a series of inclined pegs using handheld rings, and ‘Cry Baby’ a tunnel crawl through a tear-gas-like substance.

Tough Mudder North West has been held at the site near Malpas since 2012.

Last year’s challenge attracted hundreds to Cheshire to test their endurance, view our gallery of pictures below.

Tough Mudder say hosting an event brings in significant positive economic impact to the area, estimated at £1.3 to £3.1 million.

Limited places are still available for this weekend and signing up as a team will get you a discount.
