Year 6 pupils at St Oswald’s CE Primary School celebrated the end of their junior school education in style.

The pupils dressed in their finery to enjoy their leavers’ prom in a marquee at the Mollington school on what was the hottest day of the year so far (Tuesday, July 19).

Year 6 teacher and deputy headteacher Chris Timms was on hand to join in the celebrations. Chris is leaving the school for a 12 month sabbatical to head up an international school in Singapore.

He said: “This certainly is a special group of children who are essentially a team due to their relatively small number (14). The majority of the group have been together for seven years and their ability to work together, supporting and encouraging each other is quite unique."

He added: “I speak on behalf of all our staff when I say that it fills me with immense pride seing them at the point where they are ready for their respective high schools now.”
