Comedians Ross Noble, Jason Manford and Phil Jupitus are preparing to open in Bromley this weekend with a touring production of The Producers. And three days later, so are the pupils at The King’s School.

Based on Mel Brooks’ much-loved Academy Award-winning film, the show has a cast of 27 from Year 9 to the sixth form and a band of nine.

Directed by head of drama Julia Williams, the story focuses on two theatrical producers, Max Bialystock (played by Laurence Ankers) and Leo Bloom (Thomas Cuffin-Munday) who scheme their way into getting rich by overselling interests in a Broadway flop.

Last week (Friday, February 27) the Ukip conference in Margate was upstaged by dancing Nazis and a 16 tonne Second World War tank

Performers from the national tour of The Producers made sure attention was on them as they high-kicked to the famous number Springtime For Hitler.

Dancers performed a choreographed goose-stepping routine in front of the Winter Gardens as the party attempted to greet the media ahead of the three-day conference.
