Remembrance Sunday services will be held at the following locations in Cheshire West and Chester:

Sunday, November 8:

Chester Cathedral - The service will start at 10am, led by The Dean of Chester, the Very Reverend Professor Gordon McPhate and Vice Dean of Chester, Canon Peter Howell-Jones. This will be followed by the Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial outside the Cathedral at 10.50am when wreaths will be laid.

Chester - A military parade gets underway at approximately 11.20am in St Werburgh Street before it marches through the city centre streets, finishing in Northgate Street where the salute will be taken outside the Town Hall.

Delamere - The church family and local community will come together for the Remembrance Sunday service at St Peter Church at 10.30am, concluding, as always, with an act of remembrance at the War Memorial in the driveway.

Ellesmere Port Civic Square - Commencing at 10.40am at the War Memorial in Civic Square, the laying of wreaths will take place at 10.45am followed by a parade to St Thomas’ and All Saints Church at 11.05am. The parade will return to Civic Square at 12.30pm and into the Civic Hall for refreshments.

Ellesmere Port Westminster - The parade will start at 9.30am at Westminster War Memorial. There will be laying of wreaths and a service led by Reverend Gordon Welsh.

Frodsham - The service will take place at St Laurence Church at 10am. Following the service there will be a wreath laying ceremony at the Cenotaph outside the Church.

Huntington - As part of their Community Remembrance event, Huntington Parish Council would like to invite all residents to attend St Luke’s Church for the Remembrance Service at 10.30am, followed by a parade at 11.15am and arriving at the Saighton Camp Memorial for 11.45am. They would also like to invite local veterans to lead their parade in recognition of their services to our country (Alternatively, veterans would be welcome to travel to the memorial using a complimentary coach). Little Budworth - Service of Remembrance at St Peter’s Church at 10:50am followed by laying of wreaths.

Little Sutton - The parade will start at 1.30pm from Little Sutton British Legion. Laying of wreaths and the service will take place at 2pm at St Paul’s Church.

Neston - Parade will start from Royal British Legion at 2.40pm. The church service will start at 3pm with wreath laying at 3.45pm.

Norley - Poppy Crosses Walk around the village on Remembrance Sunday, November 8, starting from St John’s Churchyard at 2pm. Crosses will be placed at each plaque and on the three local graves. Each of the crosses will be supported by a donation to the Royal British Legion. The walk takes just under two hours and will pass 11 plaques sited around the village commemorating the lives of 12 local soldiers who served in the Great War, eight of whom never returned.

Northwich - The parade will set off from Crum Hill (adjacent to Northwich Police Station) at 9.30am for the short march to St Helen’s Church for the service. At 10.50am the act of Remembrance will take place at Northwich Cenotaph just outside Witton Cemetery gates. Following this, the parade will reassemble and march back to Crum Hill where the Town Mayor will take the salute.

Parish of Thornton-le-Moors with Ince and Elton - A Remembrance service will be held at 10am and Remembrance Civic Service at 6pm at St James the Great Church, Ince.

Whitegate - Remembrance Sunday worship at St Mary’s Church at 9:30am.

Winsford - The Parade will assemble on the drive to Wyvern House council offices at 10.15am and proceed via the Drumber, Dingle Lane, High Street and Dene Drive to the Town Centre through the two side entrances to Fountain Court. The service will commence at approximately 10.45am and will be led by the Town Mayor’s Chaplain, Rev. George Crowder. At the conclusion of the Service, the Civic party will take leave to receive the March Past in Dene Drive.

Wednesday, November 11

Chester - Act of Remembrance at Chester Cathedral on Wednesday, November 11 10.45am – 11.15am in the Jubilee Garden.

Frodsham - A short service and wreath laying ceremony will take place performed by Father Michael Mills at the Monument on the Hill at 11am, followed by tea/coffee at Forest Hills Hotel.

Norley - Poetry Recital at Norley’s Tiger’s Head pub at 7.30pm. Everyone is invited to come and read their favourite war poem or just enjoy the performances of others. A collection will be held for the Royal British Legion. Anyone wishing to read a poem should contact Phil in advance on 01928 787217.

Whitegate - there will be a short act of Remembrance on Wednesday 11 November at the War Memorial at Winsford Salt Mine (near the Visitor Centre) at 11am. All welcome.
