Rain didn't dampen the spirits of bride-to-be Mercedes Hughes, who enjoyed an evening at the races with friends for her hen party.
The group of all ages sheltered under colourful umbrellas to have their photograph taken by Chronicle photographer Rob Stratford.
The fixture, part of Chester Racecourse's Midsummer festival, would have benefited from some of the sun we have seen in the past two weeks but racegoers still travelled from far and wide to have a flutter on the horses.
