Louise Minchin has flambéed her way into the Celebrity Masterchef final.

The Chester-based BBC Breakfast presenter has been cooking up a storm on the show, but expressed her disbelief at making it to the last three.

She joins 70s popstar Jimmy Osmond and The Real Hustle presenter Alexis Conran in the final round.

The winner of the 11th series of the popular cooking programme will be revealed on BBC One on Friday (July 29) at 8.30pm.

In Thursday’s semi-final Louise served up laksa with lobster followed by, despite a tricky moment getting it out of the mould, a tasty-looking white chocolate and passion fruit cheesecake.

She said: “I cannot believe I’m in the final three. It’s ridiculous.

“And I just genuinely sick with the thought I’ve got to do something now more amazing in a very short space of time.”

Ex-Eastenders actor Sid Owen was the unlucky man to drop out in the semi; other participants this year have included singer Sinitta, TOWIE star Amy Childs and boxer Audley Harrison.

Louise, who had been tweeting during Thursday’s show, thanked viewers for their messages of support.

She also brought the ‘delicious’ cheesecake into the BBC Breakfast studio on Friday morning to tempt her colleagues.

The presenter tweeted: “Thank for your lovely messages. The cheesecake is going to be on @BBCBreakfast tomorrow if I can get it out of the mould!”

Throughout the rounds she has been impressing judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace, particularly on presentation.

Challenges have included working in a professional kitchen and having to take part in a relay challenge; the winners of which cooked a lavish five-course dinner for the Chelsea Pensioners to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.

Among the past champions of the culinary competition are Kimberley Wyatt, Ade Edmondson and Nadia Sawalha.

In tonight’s final Louise, Jimmy and Alexis will once again have to impress paying guests before getting the chance to cook three final dishes for John and Gregg in an attempt to convince them they should be the 2016 Celebrity Masterchef winner.
