Sky TV is revamping its sports packages which means a number of channels are being scrapped and prices will be cut.

This new sport-specific focus will mean that you could save hundreds with just a simple click of a button.

New themed channels will see football receive two listings, while there will also be a dedicated home to golf and cricket.

A channel named Sky Sports Arena will also be introduced to broadcast a host of other content, including rugby league, rugby union and tennis.

The dedicated news channels, Sky Sports News HQ, is unaffected by the changes, the Birmingham Mail reports.

Sky's decision is largely to allow them to offer cheaper TV packages to customers, who have become increasingly unwilling to pay nearly £50 per month for their full set of channels.

The new approach will see Sky offer a cheapest option at £18 but the full selection of channels will remain costly for customers.

If you start adding services like Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, Sky Boxsets, HD and SkyQ then you can easily be looking at a monthly bill of over £100.

But loyal customers who DO NOT already have discounts on their current package can save money - at the click of a button.

Just follow this easy guide.

1: Log into your account at sky.com

2: Find the "thinking of leaving sky" page by clicking on this link .

3: At the bottom of that page at the right hand side is the subheading "Still looking to cancel?" Click on the SKY TV option underneath.

4: If you are eligible for a discount you should be directed to a questionnaire page, which will ask you why you want to cancel your package. Click on "worried about the cost".

5: Again, if eligible, you will be directed to a page offering you a discount on your bill depending on your account. This could be for as much as a 20% discount.

6: If you are happy with the terms and conditions (READ THEM FIRST) click confirm and you've just saved yourself some money.
