Everton legend Peter Reid was in Ellesmere Port on Sunday, September 25 to entertain Blues fans.

The local branch of the Everton Supporters Club brought the Goodison Park hero to Indian restaurant the Purple Olive in Little Sutton where he told stories about his time at Everton and playing for England.

A boyhood Liverpool fan, Reid who now proudly proclaims himself as an Evertonian was voted the PFA ‘Footballer of the Year’ in 1985 - underlining his vital role during Everton’s greatest ever campaign.

After speaking fondly about his time at Goodison, where he twice inspired the Blues to league titles Peter and fellow Evertonian Graeme Sharp posed for photographs with guests and signed pictures and memorabilia.

Chairman of the Ellesmere Port Evertonians Dave Cockram said: “We’d like to thank Peter and Graeme for their time, it was a great afternoon and the Ellesmere Port Blues really enjoyed it.
