Tough Mudder came back to Cheshire last weekend.
Fourteen thousand participants tackled the muddy challenge at Cholmondeley Castle on Saturday and Sunday, September 10-11 including 1,000 children who took on the Fruit Shoot Mini Mudder.
Tough Mudder North West has been held at the site on the famous country house estate near Malpas since 2012.
Runners crawled through mud under barbed wire, ran through dangling charged wires and swam through icy water to reach the finish line.
VP marketing for Tough Mudder Nikki Emmans said: “Tough Mudder welcomed more than 14,000 people this past weekend.
“We were delighted with the reception, particularly with our new Tough Mudder Half event and new obstacles for 2016, including the Block Ness Monster, which is only overcome with teamwork.
“We were also thrilled to see the biggest Fruit shoot Mini Mudder event of the year, which saw more than 1,000 kids taking part.
“With the muddiest course in the UK, lots of sunshine and exciting obstacles, a great weekend was had by all.”
