With the Rugby World Cup final being held on Saturday, Chester RUFC is gearing up for a weekend of celebration at their Hare Lane home with a two-day beer festival.

Prior to the eagerly anticipated final between New Zealand and Australia at Twickenham on Saturday (4pm) the club will be hosting the festival and

comedy evening on Friday, where Phoenix Nights' Justin Moorhouse will be performing, supported by Jeff Innocent. There will also be two live bands.

The festival will also be held on the Saturday, where a host of local and international beers, wines and ciders will be available and live music played throughout the day from acts such as the Mark Henderson Duo, A Shrewdness of Apes and Bobcat Billy's Moonshine Mission.

The main event from Twickenham will be screened live at the club's Littleton home and the live music will continue until late evening.

A free bus is being put on to transport people from Chester Town Hall and Chester Railway Station to the club on both the Friday and Saturday. The Friday bus departs at 6.30pm and 7pm from the Town Hall with return trips at 10.30pm and 11pm from Hare Lane.

The Saturday bus leaves Chester Town Hall at 2.30pm, 3.15pm and 7pm with return trips from the club at 10.30pm, 11pm and 11.30pm, stopping at the Station and Town Hall.

The weekend's festivities are being organised by Chester RUFC and the Saughall Rotary Club, with all profits from the event going to charity.

Tickets for the Friday beer festival, where doors open at 6pm, are £5 per person, which includes a free beer glass and festival programme, while the tickets for the evening of comedy are £25, including an Indian meal, with doors opening at 7pm for an 8.45pm start.

On Saturday, doors open at 12pm and tickets are proced at £10 per person, also including a free beer glass and programme.
