Rough Runner, the UK’s newest distance running obstacle course, is coming to Cheshire.

The event will be held in the North West for the first time at Tatton’s 50 acre Ashley Hall Showground on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25.

The showground offers a great mix of terrains from woodland, open plains and rivers, all of which have all been incorporated into the Rough Runner route.

More than 3,500 runners have already signed up to take part in the event that features 5k, 10k and 10 mile races on both days.

Tickets have been selling fast and Saturday is now sold out but there are a few limited places available on the Sunday.

The three distances offer the opportunity for everyone from novice runners to those with a few more miles under their belts to get involved.

Inspired by TV shows such as Gladiators, Total Wipeout and Takeshi’s Castle, runners will encounter a series of unique obstacles as they attempt to complete the course including the Cargo Corkscrew, the Fearless Fall and The Travelator.

Henry Brooks, managing director of Tatton Estate Management, said: “We’re delighted that Tatton’s Ashley Hall Showground has attracted the North West’s first ever Rough Runner event. It’s a great fun fitness idea which people of all abilities from across the region can get involved in.”

There are a few tickets remaining for the event. For further information visit the Rough Runner website roughrunner.com/events/manchester-oct-2015.
