Older Peoples Day was celebrated at the Cheshire West and Chester Council annual tea dance in Chester Town Hall.

The sixth tea dance was free to older residents and during the refreshment break Connor Maughan, a student from Bishops High School, entertained everyone with his singing.

A special addition this year was the North West premier showing of Aardman Animations film ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’, tackling the important issues of isolation and loneliness, part of the Brightlife Festival.

Lord Mayor councillor Hugo Deynem said: “It was a privilege to be able to support and take part in this annual event.

“The Lady Mayoress and I enjoyed the afternoon and meeting everyone who attended. Social dancing is so important because it can help alleviative social isolation and is a great way to keeps those who participate active. We enjoyed a few dances ourselves.”
