Staff and children at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital were joined by 10 time Paralympic Gold Medallist Lee Pearson CBE and the team from The Equestrian.com Liverpool International Horse Show, to announce the new fund-raising partnership between the two organisations.

The team behind the inaugural show, taking place at the Echo Arena on the city’s waterfront from January 1-3, 2016, have provided 500 complimentary tickets children being cared for at Alder Hey along with their families.

Pearson, who has achieved 35 career gold medals at European, World and Paralympic level and is hoping to represent Great Britain at next year’s Paralympics in Rio said: “I am delighted to join Nina Barbour organiser of the first ever Liverpool Horse Show to help support and raise awareness of the Alder Hey Children’s Charity. It is so important to highlight the incredible work of this charity and the truly amazing staff at Alder Hey who care for these very brave and poorly children. ”

The Equestrian.com Liverpool International Horse Show takes place at the Echo Arena on January 1-3, 2016

This event is the newest international sporting event to be held in Liverpool and is set to draw crowds of more than 30,000 to the arena at the city’s iconic waterfront. Visitors to Liverpool will be able to enjoy three days of live music, food, fashion and family entertainment taking place around an unforgettable showcase of world-class show jumping action in the main arena.

Show president Nina Barbour, said: “We have been so impressed by the energy and hard work of the Alder Hey team and feel privileged to be working with the charity. We hope to offer the families an unforgettable experience at the arena with an action-packed schedule of family entertainment in this fantastic city.
