A family fun day will be held as part of the RHS Flower Show in Tatton Park on Saturday, July 23

RHS Flower Show returns to Tatton Park from 10am onwards on Saturday and Sunday with first ev er family fun day on Saturday. Set in the height of summer, this year's show is packed with new features including Evolution Themed Gardens, stunning sculptural displays in the Art in the Garden area, a celebration of English wine with tastings and masterclasses and Young Plant Designer and Young Landscaper of the Year competitions. 2. Art exhibition

Bickerton Village Hall will be transformed into a dazzling two story art gallery displaying over 500 pieces of original art on Saturday and Sunday. Artists from Cheshire, Shropshire, North Wales and Wirral will be sharing their talents with visitors who will have the opportunity to view and purchase some incredible pieces of original art. Bickerton Village Hall is celebrating its 10 hugely successful art event this year and has attracted artists from several counties who are sharing their talents and interpretations for nine days only. Visitors are welcome from 11am to 5pm daily and entry is charged at £2 to include an exhibition catalogue (free for under 16s).

3. Bricks in Motion

Bricks in Motion at Chester Cathedral on Saturday and Sunday. An exhibition of more than 100 Lego models created by some of the finest Lego artists in the world to celebrate the weird and wonderful world of transport. Adults £3, children £2.50, family ticket £10. Visit www.chestercathedral.com.

4. Family Saturday

Chester Performs are running Family Saturdays throughout the summer at the Amphitheatre

5. Sci-fi reading group

The Chester Library Sci-Fi reading group meets on the fourth Saturday of the month at 2pm in the library meeting room on the first floor in Northgate Street. Everyone who enjoys reading and chatting about science fiction and fantasy is welcome.

Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre presents The Two Gentlemen of Verona by William Shakespeare at 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday. Shakespeare’s first play is also his most wildly passionate, an exuberant comedy of love charting the twists and turns of the faithful and the fickle as the city’s entanglements untangle in the forest. Four young lovers on their gap-year chase each other across Italy, confused by their own adolescent desires, cross-dressing disguises, a band of singing outlaws and a roguish clown with a scamp of a dog. 8. Moonlight Flicks

Moonlight Flicks takes place at two locations this weekend. Chester Roman Gardens will be showing Brooklyn (12A) starring Saoirse Ronan at 8.30pm on Saturday and there will be two screenings at Castle Park in Frodsham with Mad Max: Fury Road (15) starring Tom Hardy on Saturday at 8.30pm and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (U) starring Gene Wilder on Sunday at 8.30pm.
