Season’s Greetings is coming to the stage in Frodsham .

Frodsham Players will be performing their version of Alan Ayckbourn’s festive play from December 2-5 at Frodsham Community Centre.

Written in 1980, Season’s Greetings tells the story of a family Christmas hosted by Neville and Belinda Bunker.

There will be TV remote hogging, a never-ending puppet show and cheating at snakes and ladders across Christmas Eve, the big day itself and Boxing Day.

David Leslie will play the role of Harvey, Belinda’s uncle.

He said: “I would say it’s a really great play, a dark comedy.

“I’d encourage everyone to come down because there will be lots of laughs and lots of good lines.

“Everyone can identify with the highs and lows of a typical family Christmas.”

Season’s Greetings, directed by Michael Mills, follows on from Frodsham Players’ production of Beauty and the Beast last winter.

Richard Spillman and Carol Crooks will play the roles of hosts Neville and Belinda.

David said: “A great deal of work has gone in to this play.

“We started planning the play with backgrounds to make and paint back in September.

“We are all excited, but prior to the dress rehearsal it's always pretty manic as there's a lot to do."
