Frodsham Players will be performing Goodnight Mister Tom as their 2016 winter production - the first amateur production of this play in the country.

Set against the backdrop of the buildup and ultimate declaration of the Second World War, Goodnight Mister Tom tells the story of sad, young William Beech who is evacuated from London to the English countryside.

William builds a remarkable and moving relationship with elderly recluse Tom Oakley.

All seems to be going well until William is suddenly and unexpectedly summoned back to London by his mother.

Goodnight Mister Tom is a tale of two broken souls at very different ends of the age scale that celebrates the value of love and proves that friendship knows no barriers.

Goodnight Mister Tom will be performed at Frodsham Community Centre from Wednesday, November 30 until Saturday, December 3. Curtain up is at 7.30pm with an additional matinee performance at 2.30pm on the Saturday.

David Wood’s Olivier Award winning adaptation of Michelle Magorian’s book is directed by Michael Mills, with music by Andrew Rudd and starring Matthew Betteridge as William, Ian Lancaster as Tom and Joseph Powell as Zach.

Tickets are priced at £8 (adult) and £6 (under-16 or in full-time education) and can be purchased from www.frodshamplayers.com, box office 07754 455809 or at Dandelion, Church Street, Frodsham.
