A talented performer from Frodsham has landed a starring role in this year’s Halton pantomime.

Laura Wenton, 25, will play Princess Jasmine in the professional production of Aladdin at The Brindley in Runcorn, alongside Eastenders star Dean Gaffney as Wishee Washee.

Laura said: “I am thrilled to be performing in my first professional full pantomime season at The Brindley.

“I hope everyone will love and support Princess Jasmine and enjoy the show.”

The 25-year-old, an actor, singer and dancer, follows in her parents’ footsteps.

Her mother performed on The Ken Dodd Show, while her late father Bernie was the original winner of ITV’s Stars In Your Eyes.

Laura, a graduate of the Liverpool Theatre School, has already played parts in The Jungle Book and Oliver at The Royal Court in Liverpool.

Her panto experience includes starring in and choreographing Peter Pan at Frodsham Community Centre.

Also among the cast is the host of ITV’s The Mint Nick Newbould, with Craig Cowdroy as director.

Performances of Aladdin will run from December 10 to January 10, 2016, including some schools shows.

Adult tickets £19, child £15, concession £18, schools £10 for one teacher and 15 others.

Groups of 20 receive a discount and pay £16.
