Chester Theatre Club has announced details of its forthcoming theatre workshops for anyone wanting develop their stage skills.

The club gave two workshops in preparation for their successful production of Macbeth.

They were well attended and participants were made to feel relaxed, had a good time and discovered a lot about Shakespeare’s classic play.

In preparation for her next production - The Lark - the director Hilary Egan will again be encouraging participants to find out more by holding two workshops on Tuesday, November 5 and Tuesday, November 12 at 7.30pm.

Hilary said:  “The purpose of the workshops is give potential cast and the director a chance to discover more about the play – a chance to experiment.

“The workshops we held before Macbeth produced great ideas which found their way into the final production.

“Anyone is welcome to come along – no previous experience or commitment is needed, just an interest in taking part and finding out more.

“The workshops will be friendly, creative and we won’t be asking participants to do anything they do not feel comfortable with.

“The Lark by Jean Anouilh is the story of Joan of Arc, but it’s also about maintaining individual integrity in a world of intrigue, betrayal and the crippling impact of any controlling dogma - political or religious.

“The significance is timeless.  It’s a large cast play with a variety of characters and many opportunities to play a small or large part – a great chance for those who would like to have a go on stage.  It will be produced in May 2014.”

The workshops will be held in the newly refurbished Salisbury Studio at Chester Theatre Club, The Little Theatre, Gloucester Street, Newtown.
