Following his successful production of Peter Nichols’ Passion Play at Chester Little Theatre, Mark Newman is about to embark on a production of his own play, Useless Beauty.

Mark will give an introduction and part-reading of the play on Tuesday, February 9 at 8pm at Chester Little Theatre, followed by open auditions on Thursday, February 11 at 7.30pm.

Mark describes his play as: “A darkly comic drama of bad manners and good wine. Three old friends meet after a break up and invite a fourth for an evening of wine and revelations. It was premiered at the Forum Studio Theatre in 2014 and was well received as a rewarding and entertaining experience for both actors and audience.”

This production will be performed in the Little Theatre’s Salisbury Studio from Thursday, April 14 to Saturday, April 16.

As well as four actors (two men and two women), Mark will also be looking for backstage and technical assistance.

The Salisbury Studio provides an intimate production space, much enjoyed and admired by Chester Little Theatre’s members and visiting companies alike.

Newcomers are welcome to come along, take a look and find out more about this new play.
