Green Day musical American Idiot is the latest show announced at the Liverpool Empire.
Tickets for the show, coming to the city next June as part of an inaugural UK tour, go on general sale on Monday.
The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical enjoyed a successful, and critically-acclaimed London run at the Arts Theatre in Leicester Square.
And four more of the show’s original London cast will also be returning for the UK tour, alongside Amelia Lily (Whatsername). Alexis Gerred (Tunny), Llandyll Gove (Gerard), Lucas Rush (St Jimmy) and Steve Rushton (Will), who will all be reprising their roles.
American Idiot is a sung-through stage adaptation of Green Day’s rock opera concept album of the same name.
The story centres on three disaffected young men, Johnny, Will, and Tunny, with two of them rejecting suburban life and parental restrictions for the big city, while the other stays home to work out his relationship with his pregnant girlfriend.
The musical recently won five Broadway World UK Awards and received seven WhatsOnStage Award nominations, including Best Musical Revival, Best Direction and Best Choreography.
American Idiot is at the Liverpool Empire from June 21-25 2016.
