The finishing touches are being put to a new rustic-style craft beer bar in Chester.

‘Born out of a desire to enjoy tasty beer’, The Goat and Munch will opens its doors on Garden Lane in the coming weeks.

Owners and Chester natives David and Louisa Wilson and their son Harry hope to offer punters a choice of four cask ales, four keg lagers and a stout and cider on draught.

David explained that he has worked in the drinks industry ‘forever’ at breweries including Cains, Peerless and Vaux, so opening a bar seemed like a natural transition.

He said: “The mission is simple: Serve delicious, affordable beer that makes you want to come back for more.

“We are small, intimate, honest, good-value and not pretentious.”

The Goat and Munch will also serve wine, soft drinks, spirits and locally-sourced snacks.

David said they are hoping to open around May 25, but for more information click here.
