The Box will play host to one of the best tribute acts in the country as they ape Kasabian
Expect ‘the best night out’ when highly-rated and neatly-named Kasabian tribute – Kazabian – arrive in Crewe this Friday.
That’s according to the frontman of Cheshire-based band Tear Down Trees who arrive in support at The Box on Friday.
John James (vocals/guitar), Rob Parry (guitar) and Paul Smith (drums) cook up a firestorm of infectious noise-chaos in what is apparently one of the smartest live shows on the circuit.
And as big fans of Kasabian, they aim to please on their debut at the Pedley Street venue.
“We’ve been waiting to play The Box for a while now,” explained James.
“We’ve kept badgering them for a gig and to get to support Kazabian is awesome.
“A lot of people might slag off tributes but they’ve played some great venues and we’re expecting the best night out.
“Kasabian are a big influence on us and this might be as close as we get to supporting them!”
Having been voted ‘Best Tribute’ at TribFest and played to crowds of up to 40,000, Kazabian have even won support from the real deal frontman Tom Meighan.
From Clubfoot to Empire through to Fire and Days Are Forgotten, crowd reactions are often euphoric.
Performances of B-Sides and special live tracks are often played and the set is constantly being updated to shadow what Kasabian are doing live.
James is hoping the crowd also appreciate their brand of indie tunes.
“We’ve got a full original set now and we’re looking to
release our new EP Back to our Roots later this summer,” he added.
“We’ve been trying to find our own sound and over the past month in the studio, I think we’ve got the mix we were looking for.
“We’re all on the same page in terms of ambition and where we want to go with the band.
“We’re going to give it everything we’ve got.
“We’ve not played much in South Cheshire so we’re hoping to win over the crowd and make The Box another home from home.”
Advance tickets are £8 and £10 on the night.
Doors open at 8pm.
