An award-winning folk duo will perform at a church in Flintshire next week with the concert at St Mary’s, Cilcain - their only tour date in Wales.

Megson are husband and wife team Stu and Debbie Hanna who have received rave reviews in the national media and won the Spiral Earth Awards for Best Duo and Best Song in 2011.

They have also been nominated in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards on three occasions.

Featuring songs about mining, love and football, Megson will bring their folk guitar and mandola sounds to Flintshire on Thursday, October 31 at 7.30pm.

The concert has been organised by the vicar at St Mary’s Church, the Rev Adrian Copping because he and wife Diane are both huge folk music fans.

He said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Megson to Cilcain for their only date in Wales.

“Diane and I met Megson a couple of years ago and have followed them ever since – this is real music for the ears and the spirit.”

Tickets for the concert are £10 and are available at www.wegottickets.com/event/245054 or from Cilcain Post Office. Alternatively you can buy tickets directly from St Mary’s Church on 01352 810936.
