Until Saturday, June 19 – World Town Crier Tournament outside Chester Town Hall:

Oyez! Oyez! Forty Town Criers will descend on Chester to compete in the Chester World Town Crier Tournament taking place outside the Town Hall.

Come along and experience the flamboyant, eccentric, loud and colourful cries of the Town Criers.

These free events will take place during the day for the three days of the tournament.

Thursday, June 17 – Soapbox present The Last Supper by Reckless Sleepers at St Mary’s Centre at 8pm:

Reckless Sleepers invite you to supper, to sample the last meal requests of the famous and the not so famous.

From Marilyn Monroe to Beethoven to prisoners on Death Row, this intimate and unusual performance serves a startling set of last statements, last meals and last-minute scenarios to a limited audience of 39 people.

Sit, sip your wine and watch as last words are literally eaten before your eyes.

Friday, June 18-Sunday, June 20 – Chester Mystery Plays in Miniature present Noah’s Flood at Chester Amphitheatre:

Chester’s own Amphitheatre will come alive with song as Chester Mystery Plays perform a 30-minute “whistle stop tour” of the 2008 play Noah’s Flood on the original Pageant Waggon.

This free event takes place during the evening on Friday, June 18 and during the day on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday, June 19-Sunday, June 20 – Midsummer Watch and BiG Giant Parade in the city centre:

The annual Midsummer Watch parade will be joined by many special guests in 2010, namely the World Town Criers, Chester Mystery Plays performers and 70 giants.

Watch and follow the visual spectacle of the parade as it winds its way through the city during this free family event.

Saturday, June 19 – A Handbag of Harmonies at Chester Town Hall’s Assembly Rooms at 7.30pm:

Chester’s own A Handbag of Harmonies female choir, which appeared on BBC TV’s Last Choir Standing in 2008, will celebrate their 10th birthday in four-part harmony with a fun concert at the revamped Assembly Rooms.

Monday, June 21 – Tour Series in the city centre at 6pm:

Chester hosts for the second time The Halfords Tour Series where some of the UK’s greatest road and track racing talent compete in an intense, fast paced and gladiatorial circuit racing around the city centre for an action-packed free event.

Tuesday, June 22-Thursday, June 24 - An Audience With... at Chester Racecourse:

Popular TV presenter Dan Snow can be seen on June 22 at 7.30pm; veteran TV and stage actor Robert Lindsay of My Family fame is the star attraction on June 23 at 7.30pm; and world renowned explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes rounds things off on June 24 at 7pm.

Sunday, June 27 – Cycle Sunday in the city centre and Chester Amphitheatre:

Wednesday, June 30-Wednesday, July 14 – Chester Summer Music Festival at various venues throughout the city:

The Chester Summer Music Festival returns for its annual outing featuring 12 spectacular evening concerts, seven lunchtime concerts and one Big Sing!

Concerts include the internationally renowned Tallis Scholars and Kings College Choir, an evening of American cabaret with singer Melanie Marshall and amazing musicians Penguin Cafe Orchestra to name but a few.

Monday, July 5-Mid-September – Rhino Mania:

Centre Stage at Chestival at Chester Town Hall:

During the majority of Chestival, an outdoor stage will be situated in the city centre outside Chester Town Hall and will entertain with singers, choirs, performers and activities you can join in with while enjoying a coffee and light refreshments.

This will be at the heart of the festival and the place where you can find out more information on what’s happening during Chestival.
