Wingin’ It are one of the most highly rated guitar duos in the country who, in their live show, deliver a fiery, energy fuelled array of acoustic music styles.

Having won a coveted Danny Kyle Award at Celtic Connections, the duo have gone on to dazzle audiences ever since.

For The Many is their debut album consisting of ten self composed pieces covering many musical genres and styles.

The album writing process began when, in 2011, the duo were commissioned to compose 10 minutes of new original music by the Gordon Duncan Memorial Trust, and then asked perform the piece at a prestigious concert in Perth Concert Hall in front of a sold-out audience.

That 10 minutes of material formed the core of the album, providing the pieces Lament for Gordon, Among Us and Raising the Bar. This spurred the duo on to start writing more material with the plan to record their debut album.

As the recording sessions progressed, and they called in help from additional musicians, the album really started taking shape.

Guesting on the album are a veritable who’s who of Scotland’s finest roots musicians including Ruaridh Campbell on violin, Angus Lyon on Fender Rhodes, Carrie Thomas on violin, Calum McIntyre on percussion, Alyn Cosker on drums, Ross Ainslie on whistle, Fraser Field on saxophone and whistle and Toby Shippey on trumpet and various percussion.

Wingin’ It themselves comprise Adam Bulley who plays guitar and mandolin and vocals and Chas Mackenzie who supplies guitars, bass and vocals. They also perform and record with critically acclaimed group The Halton Quartet.
