Creamfields in Daresbury is gearing up for what is said to be its biggest festival yet with the Bank Holiday dance extravaganza set to feature a dazzling array of some of the most high-profile names in the global dance music scene.

The Saturday headliners at the Cheshire festival – said to be the clubbing world’s largest scale outdoor event – include Canadian progressive house pioneer Deadmau5 – AKA Joel Zimmermann – known for hits including SOFI Needs A Ladder and Strobe.

Joining him for the Saturday line-up will be Swedish DJ Avicii, who is known for his hits like Silhouettes and LE7ELS.

On the other stages there will also be sets from Steve Angello, Annie Mac, and Route 94, known for their summer chart topper My Love with Jessie Glynne.

Sunday’s headliners include DJ Calvin Harris, famous for his hit singles Bounce, We Found Love, Sweet Nothing and Let’s Go.

Following Harris is dance legend Fatboy Slim along with Tiesto, Duke Dumont and Gorgon City.

Upcoming names such as MK and Second City will also be performing sets at the Bank Holiday festival, following a year of radio airplay and tremendous chart success.

The festival, held on the Daresbury estate, began as an offshoot for Liverpool dance event Cream and was originally held at the old Liverpool Airfield in 1998.

Since then the festival has grown in popularity as dance music fans travel from across the UK to the weekend event each year.

The festival moved to Daresbury between Chester and Warrington in 2006 and became a two-day event following its 10th anniversary in 2008.

Creamfields expanded even further in 2011 to include early entry Friday tickets.

This year the festival has won the UK’s Best Dance Event in the UK Festival Awards for its sixth year running, and organisers promise this year will be the best yet.

Weekend camping tickets are now completely sold out, along with hospitality tickets and the three-day standard camping tickets.

There are a small number of tickets for Saturday and Sunday still available, costing between £80 and £85.
