Jessie Ann Richardson is returning to St Mary’s after giving an outstanding performance with the Piatti String Quartet in March 2013.
The cellist is rapidly establishing herself as both a soloist and chamber musician around the UK and Europe, having thrilled audiences with her virtuoso and sensitive musicianship.
Chosen by the Park Lane Group for their prestigious Young Artist Series, Jessie made her London Purcell Room Debut in January 2011. Having studied at the Purcell School, then at the Royal Academy of Music with David Strange and Moray Welsh, Jessie won the Herbert Walenn Prize for cello.
She was featured on the Countess of Munster Recital Scheme and currently plays a Celoniatus Cello made in 1741 around Turin kindly lent to her by anonymous donors.
Recognised as an exciting performer of the new generation, Steinway Artist Simon Callaghan’s recent schedule has included Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, and St David’s Hall, Cardiff.
His engagements have taken him all over the UK, throughout Europe and to the US, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Thailand. He has also broadcast on BBC Radio 3, ITV and BBC Television.
Jessie Ann and Simon will perform an exciting programme of works including the Schubert Arpeggione Sonata, Rachmaninov Vocalise and Sonatas by Phibbs and Franck.
