A Chester choir is putting the finishing touches to its festive repertoire as it gears up for a busy Christmas season.
The Kelsborrow Choir is a mixed community choir of more than 60 members, based in Ashton Hayes. It is a registered charity and raises funds for other good causes in the area.
This Christmas, the choir’s chosen charity is Hospice of the Good Shepherd. The Backford based operation provides palliative care for residents of Cheshire West and Chester and Deeside, as well as providing services free of charge to patients and families facing life limiting illnesses.
In order to raise funds for the hospice, the choir will be at various events throughout the festive season, including the hospice’s Light up a Life event on the River Dee on Sunday, November 29 and its own Christmas concert at The King's School on Friday, December 18.
The choir will also be carol singing at Sainsbury’s, Chester and M&S, Cheshire Oaks on Saturday and Sunday, December 12 and 13. Monies raised here will be donated to the Babygrow Appeal, raising funds for a new Neonatal Unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital.
