Up and coming Birmingham band Cold Ocean Lies will be playing at The Compass in Chester on Thursday, October 16.

The young musicians, who only came together at the beginning of last year, have been building a following on the Birmingham music scene and are set to release their first single later this year.

They have recently been recording in London with Cam Blackwood who has worked with London Grammar and Florence and the Machine and more recently George Ezra.

Music and culture blog 7bit Arcade wrote of them recently: “Vocally, everything here screams classic: lo-fi and deeply hidden amongst the rest of the instrumentation and yet they’re not grungy, they are the clear-cut, distinctiveness that definitely will be sung along to by the masses one day.”

Cold Ocean Lies are Luke Brickett Haycock on vocals/guitar, Arran Bick bass, Luke Marvin drums/backing vocals and Harry Lehmann guitar/ backing vocals.
