Alexander’s Live are delighted to welcome the Urban Folk Quartet to bring their special mix of folk magic to Chester on Thursday, April 21.

This is fiddle-led music with urban influences in the widest sense – it draws heavily on celtic dance, traditional song, funk grooves, middle-eastern melodies, afrobeat to north Indian rhythms.

Joe Broughton, Paloma Trigás, Tom Chapman and Dan Walsh are the Urban Folk Quartet.

Since forming in 2009, the UFQ’s genre-defying, all-embracing approach to folk music has captivated audiences in high-energy performances across the world.

2015 brought The Escape, a new studio album showcasing material the band had crafted over the course of their first two years with their latest member, banjo player, guitarist and singer Dan Walsh.
