The debut LP from North Wales band Chasing Shadows, called Alive In Wonderland, is due for release on Saturday, August 27 when it will be launched at Alexander’s in Chester.

The band is made up of Sam Roberts (lead vocals/guitar), Ben Etchells-Rimmer (guitar/vocals), Chris Leonard (drums) and Russ Pearson (bass/vocals).

Having started as an acoustic duo, the band have quickly grown into an exciting live act, gigging solidly for the last two years, homing in on their own sound in the process.

After successfully gigging around local venues, the band began to work on their own material, releasing Burn on August 24, 2015, inspired by their hometown of Rhyl.

The track received lots of local attention, appearing in local and regional press, with the video gaining more than 4,000 views on YouTube. Following this, Pretty Thing was released and featured on BBC Wales’ Introducing show.

After having a successful run of original gigs, including Noel Gallaghers’ High Flying Birds aftershow party at the O2 Academy in Liverpool and as the warm up act for James at Venue Cymru in Llandudno, they went on to finish as runners up in the national competition Rock the House.

The debut LP is aiming to build upon the success of the material already released and was recorded in Wrexham at Amp Recording Studio.

“We’re all incredibly proud of this LP,” says Sam Roberts, the band’s lead singer. “Ten months of hard work has gone into this LP and it’s really paid off, we really couldn’t be happier with it.”

The video supporting the release of the LP documents the last 12 months of the band, featuring shots of their video shoots, gigs and studio time.
