A four piece folk band will be performing live at Little Sutton Library in Ellesmere Port in December.

The performance, which is part of the Budapest Café Orchestra’s Legends and Romances UK tour, features traditional gypsy and folk music delivered in the band’s own surprising way.

Led by jazz violinist superstar Christian Garrick, the Budapest Café Orchestra consists of players of violins, guitar, accordion, double bass, saxophone and balalaika and boasts musicians who have accompanied the likes of Luciano Pavarotti, Jose Carreras, Chris Rea, Dame Cleo Laine and Sir John Dankworth, Duffy and Nigel Kennedy.

Taking inspiration from the music of the Balkan gypsies, the BCO plays an impassioned mix of Hungarian Czardas, Russian and Ukrainian folk songs and dances from Romania and Moldova as well as their own compositions.

The performance is on Thursday, December 8 at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £8 each or £24 for a group of 4 and are available online or from Little Sutton Library online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/date/296191 , by telephone on 0151 337 6800 or email littlesutton.library@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk
