Thousands of people didn’t let the rain get in the way of their bank holiday fun as they descended on the city centre for the fourth annual Brook Street Carnival on  Sunday (May 25).

Revellers enjoyed live music, magic acts, craft stalls and fairground rides during the celebration of the area’s diversity and community spirit, which was opened by Cllr Samantha Dixon.

Carnival organiser Mark Jones said: “Brook Street Carnival is a community event and this has been its fourth year.

“It has gone from stength to strength and has fast become the biggest outside live music event in Chester’s calender outside of Chester Rocks with an estimated 5,000 people visiting through the day.

“The rain didn't dampen spirits with young and old enjoying a parade to start the day with Giants, circus and magic performers and miltary vehicles.”
