A food fiesta showcasing some of the region’s best producers is taking place near Northwich next month.

The Taste Cheshire Food Fiesta will be at the Anderton Boat Lift, featuring some of the county’s tastiest food and drink producers, over the Northwich Heritage weekend on September 10 and 11.

Taste Cheshire general manager Lisa Edwards said: “We were delighted to be asked by Anderton to bring our food producers for the weekend and we know that visitors will love the chance to try, taste and buy some of the best local ingredients over the two days.

“Our exhibitors will adopt the theme and be dressed in Victorian outfits.

Edmund Powell - Master Butcher

“With many recipes having survived from this time, the synergy is perfect.

“Marie Powell from Powell’s Pies still makes the best pork pies locally from a recipe handed down through four generations and her ancestors would be proud to see these pies being eaten and loved by people over 100 years later. We are really looking forward to it.”

There will be more than 35 local food and drink producers at the boat lift, from hot samosas to freshly baked cupcakes with free cookery demonstration from local chefs and restaurants.
