A Cheshire fine-dining restaurant has been crowned the best hotel restaurant in Europe.

Simon Radley, named after its executive chef, at The Grosvenor, Chester, has held a Michelin star for 26 consecutive years.

The European Hospitality Awards 2015 gave it the best hotel gong to add to its listing in the Sunday Times Top 100 restaurants in the UK.

The award winning restaurant is part of an elite group of only four other English restaurants to ever have been awarded one or more Michelin stars consecutively for so many years, and sits amongst the company of industry greats like Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons and Le Gavroche.

Simon’s dedication to the development of his team has also been recognised, with victory in the category of ‘Best Chef Development Strategy’ at the recent Springboard Awards.

He mentors young up and coming chefs through the ‘Simon Radley Kitchen Academy’, offering ten lucky 16-24 year olds the opportunity to earn while they learn in a full time role in our multi-million pound state-of-the art kitchens.

General manager of The Chester Grosvenor Richard Grove said: “These awards and accolades are very well deserved for Simon, his kitchen team and of course the restaurant service team, as it is these people who work seamlessly to deliver the service which the restaurant is renowned for.”
