Foodies in Chester will have another eatery to indulge at when a new Mediterranean restaurant opens its doors on Watergate Row on July 6.

The Olive Tree Brasserie, which already has two established branches in Preston and Lytham St Annes, promises to offer modern Greek fare for up to 164 covers in the former premises of Belgian seafood eatery Moules a go-go.

And in a restaurant equivalent of musical chairs, Moules-a-go-go will move into the old La Tasca building on Cuppin Street following its closure in May.

Heralding the opening of the Oliver Tree Brasserie’s third site – which will boast two bars and private dining areas – ‘an exciting time’, owner Dean Wilson explained he is on a mission to making Greek dining easier to find.

“My plans to make modern Greek food accessible to all, especially those north of the border, is fast becoming a reality,” he said.

“We will be open seven days per week, 362 days of the year providing both lunch and dinner service and with options to suit every budget.

“We have worked hard to build the brand since opening our first site in St Annes almost eight years ago and have enjoyed continued success since opening our second site in Preston.

“Winning awards and coming highly commended in the press, on independent review sites and from bloggers across the globe is a great motivator and has been a real driving force in the decision to open the next restaurant.”
