The Botanist in Chester City centre is attempting to attain a Guinness World Record title for the largest gin tasting.

The event, which is taking place at 6pm at the St Werburgh Street venue on February 11, will simultaneously take place at The Botanist and Trading House locations across the country.

Following the tasting each site is throwing a huge gin party to celebrate the attempt, to which they are giving away a limited number of free tickets.

The lucky winners will enjoy gin cocktails, live music, nibbles and gin tastings. To be in with a chance to win a ticket to the event, simply sign up at thebotanist.uk.com.

Managing director Chris Hill said: “We’ve already broken Guinness World Records title for ale tastings and for the largest collection of rums commercially available, so with the recent addition of our ‘perfect serve’ gins to our menus we only felt it right to follow this up with a gin-themed world record attempt.

“We’re all incredibly excited at the opportunity to run this across nine of our sites simultaneously and are thrilled customers can be a part of it with us.”
