The quest to destroy the Ring of Power - before it's evil master, the Dark Lord Sauron can obtain it - grows ever more perilous.

The events in The Two Towers have split the fellowship even further apart.

Young Hobbit, Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood) and his best friend Sam (Sean Astin) Gamgee are under the guidance of the malevolent, scheming Gollum (voiced by Andy Serkis). They are racing into the terrible dark heart of Mordor to reach the fires of Mount Doom, the one and only place the ring can be destroyed.

Meanwhile Gandalf (Sir Ian McKellen), Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), Legolas (Orlando Bloom), Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) and the Riders of Rohan have smashed the armies of the evil wizard Saruman and destroyed the threat of Isengard.

But now the even larger forces of Sauron himself are bearing down on them all.

As Frodo and Sam race to destroy the ring, the remaining members of the Fellowship must find their way to Minas Tirith in Gondor which will soon stage the final, horrifying battle between good and evil.
