AN ASPIRING young actor will be following in the footsteps of Derek Jacobi, Helen Mirren, Orlando Bloom and Daniel Craig when he takes his place on an intensive drama course at the National Youth Theatre in London.

Hector Stanyer, who is studying GCSE drama at St David’s College in Llanrhos, has successfully auditioned from a record number of 5,000 other young hopefuls throughout the UK to gain one of the coveted places on the course.

Founded in 1956 the National Youth Theatre has been the springboard for hundreds of successful and renowned actors over the years.

Hector’s course will be in August.
