AMERICA WAS BORN IN THE STREETS.

THIS week sees the release of Director Martin Scorsese's epic drama Gangs of New York, and we have five pairs of tickets to give away to see the movie for free.

Thanks to our chums at the Odeon Multiplex, Brombrough , you and a chum can watch this tale of extraordinary conflict, bravery, honour and vengeance for free.

Set in New York City, 1863 Gangs of New York shows us a very different city from the one we know today. New York was a very different place, a fledgling young city where the desire for a better life raged literally - in a life and death struggle.

As the Nation's own survival was being put to the test by the continuing Civil War, a tangled and dangerous underworld was born in the streets through the racketeering, bootlegging, swindling, gambling and murdering of the notorious gangs of New York whose culture of corruption threatened the very survival of America's law-abiding working people.

But this was also a time of extraordinary courage, as those pushed into a corner fought bravely both for their freedom, and the independence of future generations.

The focal point of this chaotic battle was fought on the streets of the Five Points, a dark and lawless corner of the city.

Into this moral quagmire comes the young Irish American, Amsterdam Vallon (Leonardo DiCaprio), the orphaned son of the slain Priest Vallon (Liam Neeson) - the former chief of the gang that tried to rally the Irish immigrants of the Five Points and lead them to make a claim on this new land for their descendants.

Amsterdam is a man with a secret, a dark mission, and a terrible debt to settle

His quest sets him against William Cutting aka "Bill the Butcher" (Daniel Day-Lewis), the ruthless leader of the neighbourhood, a Nativist who loathes the newly arrived immigrants and is determined to fend off the so-called "foreign invaders."

He also meets Jenny Everdeane (Cameron Diaz), a mysterious and fiercely independent woman with a neat sideline as a pickpocket.

As the battle for the future of the city unfolds, the trio will be set on an inexorable collision course.

To find out what happens next, all you have to do is answer the following question:
