Paul Burrell was heartbroken following the death of Princess Diana.

And in tonight's episode of Celebrity Big Brother (Thursday, September 3), the Royal's former butler, who runs a florist shop in the Farndon, opens up about the last conversation they ever had.

The 57-year-old revealed that before she set off for Paris, she told asked him: "You will be there when I get back won’t you?"

He then goes on to talk about the 'desperation' and 'loneliness' that surrounded her.

Remembering back to the tragic day she died, he said: "It was probably the saddest day of my life."

Shortly afterwards, the other housemates begin to quiz Paul about the Royal Family and ask him more light-hearted questions.

James Hill is keen to know whether the Queen carries any money on her.

While Paul is more than happy to keep the housemates entertained, his comments about Princess Diana clearly make an impact on Daniel Baldwin.

When the US star is asked by Big Brother to come to the Diary Room, he becomes emotional.

"To be fortunate enough to actually be with someone who served Princess Diana - what a great honour," he says.

Commenting on how some of the other housemates have been treating Paul, he adds: "It makes me so sad to see some of the peoples’ reactions right now.”

Celebrity Big Brother is on Channel 5 tonight at 9pm.
