ELIZABETH Halsey (Cameron Diaz) is a booze-addled wreck, draining her drippy, rich boyfriend dry until he musters the courage to dump her. So she reluctantly returns to her teaching job at a high school run by Principal Wally Snur (John Michael Higgins). Rebuffing the advances of oafish PE master Russell Gettis (Jason Segel), Elizabeth sets her sights on handsome new teacher Scott Delacorte (Justin Timberlake).

BRIDESMAIDS (15)

ANNIE (Kristen Wiig) used to own her own bakery but she has fallen on hard times and now works as a jewellery saleswoman. Best friend Lillian (Maya Rudolph) reveals she is getting married and asks Annie to be maid of honour. Without two dimes to rub together, organising a bridal shower to remember will be tricky for Annie, especially since one of the bridesmaids is socialite wife Helen (Rose Byrne), who splashes cash as if it is going out of fashion.

CARS 2 (U)

LIGHTNING McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) returns home to Radiator Springs as the four-time champion of the Piston Cup. Italian racing car Francesco Bernoulli (John Turturro) goads Lightning into participating in a newly announced championship organised by environmentalist Miles Axlerod (Eddie Izzard). However, a group of rogue cars led by the diabolical Professor Zundapp (Thomas Kretschmann) is plotting to sabotage the three races.

GREEN LANTERN (12A)

THE Green Lanterns maintain peace and justice in the universe using superpowers granted to them by magical rings. When an old adversary re-emerges venerated Green Lantern warrior Abin Sur (Temuera Morrison) is fatally wounded in the ensuring melee and his ring chooses United States Air Force test pilot Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) as a worthy successor.

HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS: PART 2 (12A)

THE final chapter of JK Rowling’s epic story opens with Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) stealing the powerful Elder Wand from Dumbledore’s grave. Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) continue their mission to track down the final Horcruxes, which contain fragments of Voldemort’s blackened soul.

HORRIBLE BOSSES (15)

NICK Hendricks (Jason Bateman) is an underling at a finance company, ruled with a steely glare by Dave Harken (Kevin Spacey). Kurt Buckman (Jason Sudeikis) loves his job at a company run by Jack Pellitt (Donald Sutherland), who treats Kurt as more of a son than the cocaine-snorting fruit of his loins, Bobby (Colin Farrell). Jack suffers a heart attack and Bobby seizes control of the company. Meanwhile, dental assistant Dale Arbus (Charlie Day) is sexually harassed by his boss, Dr Julia Harris (Jennifer Aniston).

AFTER being made redundant Larry Crowne (Tom Hanks) decides to broaden his skills base by enrolling for classes at East Valley Community College.Larry meets feisty teacher Mercedes Tainot (Roberts). Larry musters the courage to ask Mercedes to join him on his haphazard journey of self-discovery.
