WITH Harry Potter now consigned to the annals of movie history, teen audiences sink their fangs into the fourth film based on the books by Stephenie Meyer, which brings the love story of a mortal and a vampire to an explosive close.

Like the climactic outing of JK Rowling's boy wizard, this final chapter of the Twilight saga has been cleaved in two, with the concluding instalment due in UK cinemas on November 16, 2012.

By the end of the third film, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the tug of war for the affections of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) reached a crucial juncture and the young woman chose vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson) over werewolf best friend Jacob (Taylor Lautner).

With poor Jacob heartbroken and shirtless to show off his abs, Bella pledges her undying love to Edward and the couple marries in a beautiful ceremony in front of her father Charlie (Billy Burke) and his blood-sucking clan: Dr Carlisle (Peter Facinelli), Esme (Elizabeth Reaser), Alice (Ashley Greene), Jasper (Jackson Rathbone), Emmett (Kellan Lutz) and Rosalie (Nikki Reed).

The newlyweds head to Rio de Janeiro for their honeymoon, to consummate their love.

Bella falls pregnant and a half-human, half-vampire child grows at an accelerated rate inside her, forcing the lovers to face an agonising decision about transforming Bella into a fanged fiend.

The Quileute wolf pack fears the hybrid infant could pose a serious threat to their existence and the lycanthropes prepare to kill Bella and her unborn child.

Naturally, Jacob protests and he forms a splinter pack to protect the woman he loves.

Meanwhile, the Volturi, the council of ancient vampire leaders, learns of the pregnancy and takes a decision that could spell the end of the Cullens.
