​A Chester man's appearance on ITV dating show Take Me Out got plenty of 'likeys' from women all over the country when it aired last night (Saturday January 9).

Professional horse eventer Sam Ecroyd, 18, appeared to go down a storm on the show which sees single men trying to impress 30 single girls; not only with the contestants, but with ladies throughout the country, as they took to Twitter to sing his praises.

Despite admitting to wearing his socks in the shower and a penchant for Corner yogurts, the self described 'fun loving and sweet' lad had women declaring their love for him on the networking website, and offering to go on a date with him themselves.

​​"Sam is soooo cute," wrote one user, while another wanted to know how she could track him down.

"We've fallen completely in love with Sam from Take Me Out," confessed a tweeter called Olivia.

Even Sam himself, who used the show to display his impressive 'moonwalk' moves, was flattered by the reaction he got, claiming: "I've never had so many compliments."

But in the end, he chose contestant Joanna to whisk off to the Isle of Fernandos; however, viewers will have to wait until next week to see if the pair hit it off.

Also looking for love on last night's show which was 21-year-old Ellis Healing, a footballer for Broughton-based Airbus UK FC.

The Birkenhead-born player, currently on loan at Caernarfon Town, was once on the books of Crewe Alexandra and Tranmere Rovers.

He also proved popular with the ladies watching the show, with some tweeting that he could take them out anytime.
