Lady Colin Campbell has been the undoubted star of this year's I'm A Celebrity, but the 66-year-old has now quit the jungle on medical grounds just days before the final.

Her agent says that she "suffered a fall in the jungle camp" which he claims was "exacerbated by bullying".

According to our sister paper The Daily Mirror, Lady C's agent Mike Hollingsworth confirmed over the phone on This Morning that she had left the camp and explained: "The official statement is she's left due to a medical condition.

"I know that she suffered a fall in the jungle camp and because of that viewers will have seen that she has been using a special chair to sit on for a little while, and that has clearly gotten worse.

He added: "I have spoken to her and she is sad to be out. I think the medical condition might have been exacerbated by a certain amount of bullying she has been receiving by two particular campmates."

However, the socialite is said to be "fine" after her son Dima took to Twitter to reassure her fans.

Her 22-year-old son said: "I'm very sad to announce that, yes my mum @LadyColinCampb is out. She is fine. Dima xx".

Lady C has been the most talked about campmate this series with her frequent clashes with other celebs, particularly singer Tony Hadley who she branded a "birdbrain" and a "buffoon" and former Dragons' Den's Duncan Bannatyne who she dismissed as a "vain old goat".

The controversial character walked from the jungle today on medical grounds.

The news broke as Lady C was spotted at the Versace hotel on Australia’s Gold Coast in the last hour. This is where all the evicted contestants and friends and family stay during the series.

Just last week her son Dima appeared on This Morning to insist that his mum would never quit the show and said: "She’s not going to walk out, she's not the losing type."
